Over the past 20 years, births in Wyndham have increased by 44%. In 2009, there was a 15% increase in births compared with 2008 – a total of 2764. An average of 53 babies are born per week (7.5 babies a day), which equates to more than 2 kinder groups or prep classes per week. 1 in every 26 babies born in Victoria is born in Wyndham.
The number of 60+ residents in the locality of Truganina is set to experience an unprecedented growth over the next ten years. It is forecasted to increase by 839% from 2006 to 2016, to over 16,000 people.
